Empowering Creators: Tools for Content Monetization and Fashion Sales Analytics

In this project, I worked on two unique B2B tools, each designed to streamline processes for different types of users. The first was Brand Press, a self-serve platform for content creators to manage and distribute branded articles across multiple publisher websites. The second was a Sales Dashboard for designers on Stylista.com, a platform for selling exclusive fashion apparel. Both tools aimed to simplify complex tasks, enhance user experience, and create a seamless workflow for content creators and fashion designers alike.

Brand Press – Self-Serve Content Integration Tool

Objective:

To develop a self-serve content marketing platform that allows creators to manage, publish, and distribute their articles across multiple publishing platforms, while ensuring the right keywords and advertisements are integrated seamlessly.

Challenges:

  • Custom Landing Pages: Unlike display ads, the content had to land on custom-built article pages, which were generated dynamically. This required the design to be adaptable for various page layouts.
  • Minimal Human Intervention: The tool needed to automate as much as possible to limit human involvement, ensuring that content creators could handle the entire process independently.
  • Complex Performance Tracking: The success of the content wasn’t just about reach; it needed to be tracked based on engagement metrics, requiring advanced tracking mechanisms.

My Role

As the lead UX/UI designer, my role was to understand the intricacies of content distribution and design an interface that made this complex process easy and efficient for users. I collaborated closely with the product manager to define the tool’s key features and identify the pain points of the content creators. One of the key aspects of my role was helping the team secure investment for the tool by creating visually engaging concepts during the initial pitch phase.

Design Process for Brand Press

I began the design process with in-depth research and workshops involving both the product team and actual users—content creators, publishers, and sales managers. The goal was to understand the specific pain points in their workflow and the challenges in managing large amounts of content.

  • Wireframing & Prototyping: After gathering insights, I moved into the wireframing phase. The tool needed to balance simplicity with functionality, and I worked to create a clean, organized layout. I developed multiple iterations of wireframes, refining the layout based on user feedback.
  • User Journeys: Next, I mapped out user journeys, ensuring that different types of users—content creators, managers, and publishers—could all navigate the tool effortlessly. I worked on multiple use cases to visualize how each user would interact with the platform, from uploading articles to tracking performance metrics.
  • Interactive Prototyping & Testing: I created high-fidelity interactive prototypes and conducted usability testing with real users. This phase helped us fine-tune the user interface and improve the overall flow of the tool. It was essential to ensure that the platform met the users’ needs while also being visually engaging. Based on the feedback, I worked closely with developers to ensure the final design was fully functional and met the technical requirements.
  • Creating Guidelines for Execution: Along with the visual design, I also created comprehensive guidelines for both designers and sales managers. The designers used these guidelines to execute ad campaigns that fit seamlessly with the platform's architecture. For the sales team, I provided content guidelines to help pitch the tool effectively to brands, ensuring that even during high-pressure pitch meetings, the tool's benefits were clearly communicated.

Fashion Designer Sales Dashboard – Stylista.com

Objective

To design a backend dashboard that allows fashion designers to manage their inventory, sales, and interactions on Stylista.com, a platform that exclusively showcased their clothing lines. This tool needed to provide real-time sales data and insights in a user-friendly manner.

Challenges

Comprehensive Data Monitoring: Designers needed to access detailed data on product sales, user interactions, and engagement metrics across multiple styles. Accessible Interface: The platform's users were often designers with limited technical experience, so the dashboard had to be intuitive and easy to navigate.

My Role

My role was to create a visually appealing yet functional backend system that designers could use to monitor their fashion collections. I worked directly with the platform's product team to understand the core functionalities that the designers needed and translated those into a streamlined user interface. The dashboard featured sections for tracking sales, viewing style popularity, and analyzing user feedback—all presented in an intuitive, data-driven layout.

Design Process for Stylista Sales Dashboard

  • Research & Personas: For the sales dashboard, I conducted interviews with fashion designers to understand their needs and pain points when managing their styles on an e-commerce platform. The research phase was crucial to understand their technical knowledge and what they valued in terms of data and analytics.
  • Wireframing & UI Design: Based on this research, I developed wireframes focusing on usability and clear data representation. The sales metrics and style popularity were displayed using graphs, tables, and other visual tools to make the data more accessible to non-technical users.
  • Prototyping & Testing: After finalizing the wireframes, I moved into the prototyping stage, conducting usability tests with several designers to ensure the dashboard was easy to navigate. Feedback from this testing helped improve the overall user experience and ensure that designers could manage their inventory and sales without confusion.
